One day, that wasn't raining, we decided to make a trip to a castle site. Not too far away from us, there is the Katsuren Castle Site, one that is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It has a beautiful view, as it's high on top of a hill and you really get the feeling of being on an island, as you see water from both sides.
Yes, we were carrying umbrellas, being very Okinawan and using them for sun protection.

When we were down from the castle, we took a few pictures by the typical "wooden cut-outs' that are very popular here in Japan. The kids love it, and have a blast with them where ever we go!
