Valentine's Dance

Words can't describe how much I love this beautiful girl! Tonight her girls came over here to meet up before I took them to the school dance. The Valentine's Day School Dance. A special one, and also the very last one for Cassie with her friends in this school. Very sad indeed, but the girls put on brave faces and set out to have a great time, and I was happy to have them all here, and to be able to snap a few pictures of them when they were all together.

There can't be too many of them, and I know that Cassie really wants them, so I got the girls in the backyard, to take a few before we had to go. There wasn't much time, as they are not home from school until around 4pm, and then the dance started at 5.30pm.

In front of their school.

I had Ben and Bella with me, as they too wanted to get the girls to the school dance. All the girls asked Ben who was the prettiest, and Ben was so cute and thought for a moment, and then he answered "Mamma"! My sweet boy. Then he followed that up with saying, "I didn't really want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I rather not choose one of the girls, so I rather say you mamma."

After taking a few pictures, the girls took off in all directions greeting other friends and we left them there. Cassie got a ride home with another mom who picked them up. They had a great time together, and I'm sure that it will be a night that they'll remember.

Halloween Dance

Last night, Cassie got ready for the Halloween School Dance. After much searching for a good costume, she did find this, which was perfect as she loves the books and the movies from the series "Hungergames". Yes, she dressed up as Katniss Everdeen. I think that she looked stunning, and it's so fun when she asks if I can help her with make-up or hair. She was extra happy tonight, when I said yes to her request to borrow my boots! First time in high heels, so that was extra special!!

Ben was nice to let her borrow his bow and arrows, but as they are not allowed to bring anything that could be used as a weapon, the bow and arrows were only fun as a accessories here at home.

My little girl, is clearly not that little anymore...:)

After our photo shoot, we went to pick up her friends Emma and Annie. They were dressed up as twins, and they were all looking forward to the evening. I was able to take a few extra pictures of the three friends before they headed in to the dance. There might not be another school dance for Cassie here together with her friends, so I know that this was very special for her.

Here together with the School Mascot, The Wolf.

My gorgeous daughter!

Isabella came along aswell, she wouldn't miss it for the world!
It won't be long before she will go to dances with her brother....!

She had a great time, and her friend Annie's mom picked the girls up. They have already made plans to meet up tomorrow night for a movie night at one friends house, but first she'll come along with the family to go Trick-Or-Treat!!

School Dance

The school dance last week was the first of the year and very special ofcourse. They always are and I must say that it's a lot of fun with all their Spirit Weeks and dances that goes with it. Lots of fun for the kids, and why not make the most out of it when you can!?

I don't think my girl has ever missed one school dance, she loves to dress up and get ready and I'm very happy that I'm still the "go to person" for helping her with hair and make-up. I'm very aware of that this will most likely  not last very long and I'm soaking it up and enjoying it as much as I can with her.

The theme was anything between "50's to present time", where everything and anything goes. The kids certainly had a big mix of styles there, but Cassie had already set out to be a "Grease" inspired "Rocker-Girl". Living in the desert, where no jackets are needed atleast not for another couple of months, she got to take any opportunity of wearing her new leather jacket that she bought in Sweden!! So funny when we were there btw. In the end of June when it was still pretty chilly, every other teenage girl in Sweden was wearing one of these black leather jackets!!

Her cousins advised her on where she'd find one, and she was very happy when we finally found one that she liked!! :)

 It's all about the eyeliner...:)

Her best friend Emma came over to the house and I drove them to the dance. There she ran into her other friend K and I was able to get a quick picture before more girls were coming up left and right and wanting to pull her away. Before they went out on the dance floor, I got her to get in a picture with a few of her friends! These shots will be put into a memory album from her time in Yuma, that's for sure!

The friends!

Last School Dance Of The Year

A week ago, last Monday, Cassie had her last School Dance for this School year. They have had a lot of them here in Middle School, which has been a lot of fun, and the kids have something to look forward to. As they normally go by a theme, there is normally a lot of planning and discussing amongst the friends about especially the outfits. They are girls after all..

This dance's theme was pretty simple, "Spring", and Cassie picked out a new dress in turquoise and white, and as always, she asked her mommy to help her with hair and make up. As always, this mommy enjoyed helping her. I really cherish this time with her, the giggling, the preparing, to share the fun and excitement. There will soon come a day where she won't ask anymore, where she'll get ready on her own or with friends. But that she now still chooses to get ready with my help, is something that I hold dear to my heart.

I drove her to the dance, and walking in, some of her friends were already there. They were all so pretty, and they all had decided to wear dresses, which was really cute. Before leaving, I was able to get a few pictures of them. Isabella was with us, she loves coming along and think it's so exciting to see what's going on at the dances in school. While I took the pictures, she was already up on the dance floor! While she did understand that we had to leave and let Cassie have her fun, Isabella said something really funny while driving home.

"Mommy, I just thought of something, when I start Preschool, I can go to my own school dance!!" So sweet, and I had to smile. I didn't want to crush her hopes, but gently tried to explain that they might not have big school dances in Preschool...

Winter Wonderland School Dance

Tonight, Cassie went to the third and last (?) school dance for this semester. This time the theme was "Winter Wonderland". She was very happy, as she had earned a free ticket, that was given out in school to the kids with good grades. Another little encouragement that I think is so nice here with this school.

As always, Cassie likes to dress up, but this time we had to improvise with the hair, as there was no time to curl or even totally dry her thick hair. She came home close to 4pm, worked on homework for about an hour, then a quick shower and get ready, and the dance was held between 5.30pm-7.30pm. I hurried to help her, and she looked so pretty dressed up all in white and with black boots. Like a shimmering little snowflake, just like the ones she had in her ears and around her neck.

Normally, I always like to take a couple of pictures with her, but this time there was really only time for a few, as it was already 6pm when I dropped her off at the dance. A little fashionably late, as Cassie giggled..

My sweet little snowflake, borrowing her mommy's clutch for the night

The entrance to the dance was nicely decorated!

Many of her friends didn't go this time. Cassie was happy when her friend K above called when we were on our way to school. Always nicer to have someone to be there with, even if she gets along with most. The other friends had several reasons to why they didn't come this time. One was grounded, another was sick, a third one wasn't allowed to due to heavy homework load. Cassie had a lot of homework too, and sat until 9.30pm when she came home, but she had still been smart and done a lot of it already yesterday, to prepare to take some time off tonight. Very responsible, and we even managed to squeeze in checking her on her preparation for the big Spelling Bee in school on Friday.
