Before Chris was leaving Okinawa in November, he was able to get one day off, and as it was a weekday the kids were in school. We decided to go for a drive and have lunch somewhere new. After a bit of driving, we came to the cafe by the beach, but wheat we didn't know was that just next to it, was this big Sweet Potato factory. The Japanese love their purple sweet potatoes, and there is so many different dishes, cakes, sweets, pastries and even ice cream with this flavor. If you see anything purple, it's for sure sweet potato!
We decided to have a look around as we were there anyway and it was neat to see. Beautiful decorations on the building and so well kept everything.

Especially these sweet potato cakes are very popular here on Okinawa. I really don't like them, but like with everything, taste is different.
In summer it's a wonderful place to come and have a drink and enjoy the view, this day was pretty windy and chilly, so we decided to sit inside for our lunch. Still the same view, just not outside!
Lunch!
The shopping area and souvenir store.
After lunch, we decided to go down to the beach after all for a short walk. It was windy but very beautiful!
Pathway to the beach!
Seeds from a palm tree.
It was a very beautiful beach, and I wish it would have been warmer and not so windy! Still, it was nice to spend some time together and we even tried to get some selfies. It was bright, and not easy to get a good shot, but still, worth the effort.
My love and I!
