Workout With Stairs

Another workout that I will do once/week, is to take a Power walk to the Bullring Arena, and then run the stairs a few times up and down. There are also perfect spots around this area that can be incorporated with different workouts. It was beautiful weather, not too hot, not too humid, but a perfect temperature and a light breeze. I got myself a good leg work out and also did some core and arms.

It's so much nicer to be out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings instead of standing in the gym. The weather is warming up anyway, so soon it will be too hot to work out outside, and then the gym will be coming in handy.

After a few times up and down, I could feel it in my legs for sure!

To continue my PW, I walked all around the park, and found that the Cherry Blossom trees were still blooming here and there.

Crossing the river Tengan, and then another 15 minutes walk until I'm on base again. All in one, I was out and about working out for around 2 hours. Felt good, and I'll try to go back at least once a week for this workout, and then also try out some new areas with other views.

Fitness - Getting Back On Track

After many years of next to no workout at all, and with a body that is starting to show lots of signs of aging with aches and pains here and there, it's been on my mind for a long time that I have to start working out. I started in the fall when the kids went to school, but lost my motivation in the stress before Christmas and after the holidays, it was just a few sporadic visits to the gym and not as frequent as I would have wanted, but the motivation wasn't there.

Then the kids got sick, then I got sick, then the kids back and forth and with a lot of mornings of volunteering in the school the weeks went by without exercising at all. I have to change my routines that I somehow can get back on track and get a stronger, healthier body and I need to loose a lot of weight to get back to a good BMI number.

So, with March rolling in, I felt like I need to make it happen - NOW- or another month will pass by with about the same lack of motivation and same bad routines.

So, I made up my mind. I will try to eat healthier, and I will exercise at least 4 x week this month. Depending on the weather, I will work out outside and if it's raining, I will hit the gym. I will weigh myself every Monday, and see if there has been any changes, so we will see!

For me it's huge that I have made up my mind! That we have had great sunny Spring weather has certainly helped to boost the motivation and when you have the chance to take your Power Walks to the beach, what's not to love?

I walked a distance about 3 miles today, there and back. I did stop at the beach to enjoy for awhile, and to also do some arm workout. I found a perfect shaped rock in the size of a dumbbell and I did a few repetitions on lifts and squats. There were also perfect little stairs leading down to one side of the beach, where I did some repetitions of push-ups and plank and it felt pretty good. Tried to focus on arms today, as I did legs yesterday, will show you the pictures of that later!

Anyway, I'm not going to post pictures of the gym everyday, but the first couple of times where I go outside to these beautiful places, I figured I'd show you where I work out, and then in the future I can just refer the workout to Uken Beach or another place.

So here are the pictures of where I went today!

After an arm workout it was nice to just sit down and enjoy the view
while sipping on my water!

These balls of seeds in the size of a coconut, were laying here and there on the beach, swept in with the waves from falling into the water of the palm trees close by.

It's a jungle out there!

No swimming?! Watch out for currents by the pier? Didn't have time to translate this sign.

Only people around wee some fishermen standing further out on the pier.

Here are the little steps leading down to the beach. The first step from the sidewalk, was higher and perfect to lean against for push-ups etc.

Here they added - No swimming!

Beautiful colors

 Beautiful corals and sea shells.

I was gone for about 2 1/2 hours. But that's only because I took a long time at the beach. Still, it was great to be out in the sun, breathing in the saltwater and feeling energized!
