Soon....

I'll be back!!

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be the happy owner of my first laptop !! The computer is still not fixed and it will most likely take some time as it's more complicated than we thought and my patience is now gone and we have been looking into different kinds of laptops and as always I want to compare and do some reasearch before buying.

I have so much to catch up on- a whole month worth of pictures and a lot is going on, so please bare with me, it will take some time but I will go back and answer all the comments that I still haven't responded to.

I'm so excited and very happy!

Frustration

It's not just annoying anymore- it's frustrating BIG time not having the computer!! Never have you ever as much to do online as when you can't use the Internet. Researching, bills, photos to download and a blog that I'd like to update about so much that's going on right now. Writing here over the iPhone just takes too long and I can't add the pictures as I want to. Maybe by the end of the week the computer will be back- we'll see. Until then I keep checking in on my favorites, but forgive me for not commenting, it's just too time-consuming at night as I can only check in late at night. The days are otherwise still extremely hot and we don't spend too much time outside with the babies. While they are sleeping, I try to get some time in the sun to work on the tan..with the temperatures this high it's really grilling and even with high sunscreen factor you burn if you are out for a longer period of time. Today it was over 102F and I didn't take the little ones out until after 7pm wanting to go for a walk before bedtime, but after 10 minutes they were already starting to get red, sweaty and overheated so I had to go back home. I love the summer, the sun and the warm weather but this is too much! I hope that it soon will cool off a little bit so we can be outside and actually enjoy this summer!!

Still no computer

A week has passed and we still haven't got the computer fixed. Chris ordered a new graphic card today and hopefully it won't take long for it to arrive. And hopefully then the problem will be solved, it's not a guarantee.. It's so frustrating to be without anyway and now I have so much that I need to do and to take care of - especially regarding our move and our new location. It will have to wait. I also have so many photos from the last week and I miss not being able to download and to post them here on the blog. I can only check in here and there from my husband's phone and through the PS3, but it's not easy to comment and to write takes to long. At least I can check in on MU favorites!! Otherwise we are melting away here. The heatwave that has held the US in a tight grip has given us temperatures over 100F/40C for a week now. To hot to do much outside with the kids and we spend most of the day inside with the Ac running high. Tomorrow it will cool off about 10 degrees so maybe then we will go to the pool!!! Cassie and I can't wait!

Out of order

Since yesterday, our computer is dead! It started to blink and act all funny with changing colors and I managed to turn it off. When Chris came home he managed to save all the pictures down to the freeagent drive in case it's the harddrive that's breaking down. Now e hope that our friend that is a computerguy can come over tomorrow and fix it. Just checking in from my husband's iPhone. Will answer comments later.

Strollers and Carseats

Before heading for the mall on Sunday, we took a stop at Babies'rus, as I wanted to have a look for strollers. Our stroller that we have used for a year, was so old and not a choice that I would have gotten, but as we got it for free from a friend, and it has worked kind of OK, we did use it and ended up saving lots of money on a double stroller that are quite expensive here.  I've now found a new one that they got in at Walmart, for a really good price with big air wheels that I wanted, to be able to go for good walks and on grass and everything. Before purchasing that one that you can only order online, we wanted to see if they had anything in the store for comparable prices. Then didn't. So I have to get the one I looked at online, and hopefully it will be good. I don't like that they don't have it in the store to look at, for the kids to have a seat and all, but I guess if it's not good, I can always return it. But it has lots of good points to me- especially the price!!

InStep - Safari Double Jogging Stroller, Red:  Price: $143.00
  • Rubberized, adjustable handle is comfortable and slip resistant
  • All three wheels on the InStep jogging stroller come with a quick-release feature that makes wheel removal a snap
  • 12" front and 16" rear pneumatic tires with molded
  • Quick Release rims provide a smooth ride and easy maneuverability
  • Retractable, independent 5-position canopies protect against UV rays (love this one, as sometimes one child takes a nap and needs cover and the other might want to have it back and sit up and look around, this canopy you can also move totally to the front so the child don't get the sun in the face when walking against the sun!)
  • Parent and pivoting child trays with cup holders for added convenience
  • Securely seats two children up to 50 lbs each
  • Product weight: 37 lbs.
  • InStep jogging stroller requires some assembly
  • Manual swivel lock allows you to flip between jogging and strolling mode
  • I add:
  • I like the color, not just black, gray or navy but a pop of red color that works for a boy and girl!

We did find good car seats for the twins though, not any that we need right now, but still that we will purchase in the near future. As our twins are to the smaller side, they fit with no problems into their baby car seats still, and will do for a while. The twins only weigh about 17 pounds and the weight limit on the car seats are 22 pounds. And they still have a lot of room for legs and growing room for their heads, but it was good to feel, look and compare a lot of next car seats together when we were there. There are almost no time for us to do these things together, and it's almost always up to me, but it's nice to have my husbands input on these things too. I've seen the ones that I wanted online before, but it was good to see how soft, safe and well done they were. Car seats are not something that you can shop after price - there I think, you really have to do your research and find the newest technology for safety. This will be the next car seat for our twins, preferable we'll get them adjusted to sit well in them before our move - and long driving.

Wichita - Allstar Adventures

Sunday was Funday - as most of our Sundays are, but this one was a little bit extra fun! We had talked about going to the Zoo, but decided to wait until we see how the twins are doing and if we can push the nap time forward. We really didn't want to go to the Zoo and 1 - have the kids sleep away the time there or 2 - have really cranky babies...Since they started to sleep through the night, we have had very hard to get into a new routine. They are still tired around 10am and sleep until around noon, then they eat lunch. But being awake from noon- 8pm is a very long time, and they have been very tired and whinny and it's hard to know how to brake this habit of sleeping in the afternoon. I don't want to keep having them take a nap around 4pm, as it will disturb the night sleep, and they have been doing wonderful with sleeping through, I guess we just need to wait it out, soon we can maybe push nap time forward and sleep after lunch! Then it would be much easier to plan and do day trips too!!

Anyway, so now we decided to go to Wichita, and the plan was to first visit some car dealers and have a look into the cars that we are interested in, but they were all closed! Memorial weekend, lots of advertisement on deals etc, but not the two dealerships that we wanted to visit! So typical as it's not that often that we go down to Wichita together.

After a stop at Babies'rus, we went to the mall where it was time for lunch for everyone. I had brought lunch for the twins and they did good eating and as the time was ticking away, the shopping that I had wanted to do, shoes and clothes for myself - I decided to skip so that we could go straight for Allstar Adventures. To spend hours in the mall on this beautiful day, together with 4 people that doesn't like shopping for mommy....well, the choice was easily made! There will be other times for me to go shopping. This way we also had much more time for fun!

Especially Cassandra, as we bought a Day-Pass, so that she could go on everything as many times as she wanted! This was truly a day for her, and it was fun to see how grateful she was having a trip for her and not just for the twins! She so deserved this for her hard work at school and her awesome report card!! She enjoyed the rides and we enjoyed watching her!

The mini golf area. We didn't do this on Sunday, but maybe next time!

Benjamin reached his tired point in the afternoon and needed some extra cuddles..

The twins got a little bit tired and hot after a while, and then it was nice to go inside in the Arcade with AC and the restaurant area to give them their dinner and cool off and watch all the lights and fun games. Cassie and Chris had a good time, and me and the twins joined in on the fun after a while and after a complete change of clothes for the twins....I had brought a new kind of food jar, beef and vegetables, and it was more like soup....so you can only imagine how the twins and their clothes looked. As I was covered too, there was no time for pictures, but I'm sure that you can imagine the big mess.

Only time I will allow her to be on a motorcycle..

Benjamin wants to have a turn on the bike too!!

The boy is happy again!

Isabella loved the duck game!

Air hockey with the family!

First ride on a carousel horse!!!

Here it had stopped and I quickly let my hand go that was holding her arm to the left for the picture. I walked around the carousel with her...I wouldn't trust her to hold on for the ride on her own!

Collecting lots of tickets....

We finished off playing some of the games and it wasn't that busy, which was good, so there was time for the twins to have a look at a few things too before heading home. Cassandra got some prices that she picked out for all the tickets.  Do I need to say that we were all tired and that the twins fell asleep in the car within a couple of minutes? Luckily they did wake up on their own just in time when we came home, but they were still so tired that they didn't have any oatmeal, but they did drink some warm milk before they went to bed. And they had a good night sleep!! We were all tired after all the fun in the sun!

Ready for party

On Friday afternoon, we went to our neighbor's house for cake to celebrate that Cassie was out of school and that summer vacation started. This is how cute and handsome my little ones looked!
