Moving Day!

I'm so behind, we already have October, but still, I want to document the move and everything, so even if it's late, here are some pictures from our Moving day in August. We had booked a partial move, where they were going to be moving all furniture, and some boxes that I had packed up before. A lot of things we packed and moved over the day prior, as we needed to clear some space so that the movers could move out the furniture, and take some apart.

They arrived at 9am, and got to it right away, we were lucky and it didn't rain, even if it was lingering in the air all morning!

Moved down with the elevator, to be moved over into the trucks.

Their small truck was soon packed full, especially with the sofa.

Four little ones hanging around waiting! Cassie was watching Benjamin and Isabella while we drove over to the new house to direct the movers and get everything into the house. As there was absolutely nothing to do and to stay out of the movers way, books and electronics were the best choice of entertainment. Rusty we moved over the next morning when things were put in order at the new house.

Blue chair has turned out to be too large and taking up to much space, so we will take it back to the warehouse and return it.

Finally, after the movers left, we went to go and get the kids, loaded up the cars at the same time ofcourse, and the kids got to hold onto the table lamps in the car, so that they wouldn't brake. So much easier than to have to pack down everything in boxes. Worked fine, but looks a bit funny on the picture infront of the new house, they all are holding up lamps...:)

Later the same evening playing, getting more toys and stuff out.

Last Night In Old House

I was just going through the pictures from the move, and found these from the last night in the apartment. The last time for the twins to have to share bedroom. Last sleep, early the next morning we had to wake up and pack up all the bedding, everything else was pretty much ready to get moved by the moving company that was coming at 9am the next morning. 

Storytime In Pajama

We really love our local library on our base. Or, I should say, our previous base. The one we live on now doesn't have a library, but we still go to the one on Camp Courtney ofcourse.

The kids love it and they have so many different activities going on all the time. The pictures below were from an evening in summer when they had "Story time in Pajama" where all the kids got to show up in pajama and listen to stories. Then, they all got their own little teddy bear to keep, and could decorate it any way they wanted.

I think that their teddy bears came out very very cute!

Pool & Movie Day

End of July, our pool on Courtney closed down due to leaking problems, so to get the most of it before, I tried to take the kids a lot the last week. The very last day before the closing, I took the kids very early as soon it opened on a Sunday, and we were the only ones there. The kids had the whole kid pool for themselves and had a great time playing and running around!

The only ones at the pool- the ones in the big pool are the life guards that are cooling off.

After the pool, a shower at home we decided to go to the movies at 3pm. Cassie came with us to the movies, something that isn't very common anymore! We watched the new Ice Age movie, the kids thought it was good!

Playtime In The Sunset

Pictures from a random evening in the end of July/beginning of August. The heatwave was really bad, with temperatures with humidity feeling over 120 degrees Fahrenheit, around 50 degrees Celsius, so there were no chance to get out during the day to play baseball or ride the bikes that the kids have been asking me to do. So after an early dinner, I took them with me outside, to do both! The sky was beautiful as the sun was getting lower and the sunset was around 7.30pm. It still was very hot and sweaty outside, but at least the sun didn't burn.

On the way home, we saw several big Okinawan bats. They are HUGE, but were zipping and zapping back and forth so fast that I didn't get any pictures of them.
