Red Ribbon Week
To celebrate Red Ribbon Week , they had a theme week, 10/24-10/28. The kids were encouraged to participate by wearing the following items:
Monday- Were as much red as you can find!
Tuesday- Army Day: Dress like a soldier in the war against drugs!
Wednesday- Twin Day: Get together with a friend and dress alike.
Thursday- Nerd Day: Celebrate with suspenders, glasses and PhD's!
Friday- Crazy Hair Day: Braid it, spike it, color it...just get crazy!
Well, Monday we kind of forgot that it was theme week, and Cassie first realized when she got to school that morning. Tuesday, we were much more prepared!! No "fake" camouflage, only the "real" stuff!
For Twin Day, Cassie got together with a girl in her class and they had a pink t shirt and jeans on and the same hairstyle plus matching hair clips and tattoos. Didn't get a picture of the two together.
Nerd Day, Cassie was prepared. We had gone to the favorite store Claires, to get glasses and suspenders, and she wasn't the only girl in school that was there that afternoon. They must have made a great profit on the schools Nerd Day!
Crazy Hair Day, no problem, we made lots of braids and ponytails, looked really "good", but forgot in the stress this morning to take picture and when she came home she took it out right away. But I'm sure you can imagine how she looked. The pictures from this week that I did get, comes separately in following posts.

Consignment sale preparations..
Tomorrow it's time again. I have to turn in all my stuff for the sale until 6pm - tomorrow that is (thankfully!!) and I'm soooooo..... behind. Not at all as prepared like I was last time. I didn't want the house to look to messy and unorganized yesterday when the moving company lady was here, so I didn't bring the stuff up from the basement until yesterday. And, yes the yard sale stuff takes over the whole dining room when I get started with the price tagging, organizing girl/boy clothes in sizes and pinning on hangers etc..
So I'm busy and to top it off there is Halloween stuff to prepare, items to buy for the costumes, change of costume as our little boy didn't like his.., items to buy for school party, pumpkins to buy (as we forgot to buy them at the Pumpkin patch) and then my husband has to leave tomorrow for Oklahoma and this year's Marine Ball, and his stuff isn't packed yet either. As he won't be home until the little ones are in bed (and the wardrobes are in the bedroom where they sleep), I will have to get most packing done during the day or at least put it out and hopefully not forget anything. He won't be back until Sunday afternoon.
So, enough for now! I have to get started as the little ones are playing nicely. Have to get as much done as possible when they are happy, which isn't always the case. To have them "help" isn't an option as they pull on the clothes and to have their little fingers stay out of the safety pins and not pulling off the price tags isn't the easiest...I sure hope that they will take a long nap today!! I'd like to do the same as I'm so tired as our little ones were up early - very early this morning...
Moving date set!
At the same time I had to leave for the dermatologist this morning, a lady from the moving company came to the house to have a walk through together with my husband. As the military moves us and pays for the move, it's important to keep within the required weight limits. The higher the service member is on the rank, the higher weight he is allowed to bring along. Chris is a Ssgt and we are allowed to bring 11000 lb. Anything over that, we have to pay for.
She had a checklist and checked off the amounts of furniture etc that we had, and then they can have a good estimation of if we are within the limit, and unfortunately the machine she used to scan our furniture in didn't give her the updated total amount here today, so she will have to get back to us with the total estimation. But, as far as she could tell from experience, we wouldn't be over the limit.
They wanted to book the movers to come and pack up the house Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving (which is on Thursday November 24th) and then come back and load everything on Monday the 28th. Hello? That's not going to work! They were really thinking that they could leave us in the house over 4 days + a big holiday!, with everything in boxes? No, luckily my husband got them to understand that it's just not working, and now they will come on Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving to pack up the house, and on Wednesday the 30th of November, they will come and load everything up into the truck.
So, now we know.
We'll be leaving town and we'll be heading for Arizona on November 30th!
Then, we were told that the earliest day that they can deliver our things are on December 14th in Yuma. I hope that we'll have an address then, as for now we don't. Hopefully there will also not be any problems for my husband to sign in on base and then be able to be off that day, as he was supposed to start working on the 14th. For me to be there alone to supervise and to check everything when they bring in the boxes, tell them where to they will go, in what room the furniture will go and check for damages, sign off each box number on my control sheet etc etc WITH the twins is pretty much impossible, so I sure hope that Chris can be there!

Dermatologist
I've never had a total check up of my moles, so I asked the dermatologist to have a complete check of all of them. I have gotten a lot more of them just the last couple of years, and even if most of them are small as dark freckles, still I wanted to have a good opinion. According to the doctor, pregnancy and the hormone changes in the body due to the same can make you develop more and the ones you already have can change. My brother had to have one big one removed and my younger sister has also had some removed, both luckily without any further problems. I was happy to get out of there not having to remove one or not even having one that looked bad in his eyes.
I have a few that are not even moles, they were called something fancy in Latin that I don't even remember, but there was no risk for developing skin cancer in any of them. The two darker ones that I have, are totally fine right now, but I should keep an eye on them, and come back in 6 months for another check up. Well, I won't come back to town just for that after our move, so he was nice and measured them and will put it all into my medical records that I will bring with me when we move.
The twins were doing pretty good today coming along. Benjamin normally always freaks out as soon as we enter the elevator, as he knows that we'll end up at the Pediatrician's office. He doesn't like going to the doctor at all! Luckily they were both OK today with some snacks and toys that I brought along.
Here are some of the signs that he told me that one should look for in moles. ABCD = easy to remember!

Horse lovers!
Cassandra and Isabella both loved the horses. I guess that comes from my side, as I had horses growing up, or maybe it's just "a girl thing?" Anyway, it was quite a funny contrast to show Isabella one of the biggest horses the Clydesdale to the smallest ponies that they had. She totally understood that they were all horses, but I could tell that she felt much more confident petting and saying hello to the little ones, just right for her size. They were also so very nice, hardly moved and there was no fear of them kicking or biting, as you sometimes just don't know. I had asked the owner before and the kids were allowed to go into the pin and there was a constant coming and going of people and the little ponies just didn't care.
Truck lover!
Some more pictures of Benjamin and his trucks. Amazing how much fun he think it is. He has a lot of trucks here at home to, but not any that are this big, so now we know what Santa has to bring for him this year!!
Pumpkin Patch
Yesterday, we went to a Pumpkin Patch. Finally, as Halloween is coming up already next Monday, it's not long to go. We've been wanting to go for a while now, but there was always something going on or the weather wasn't right, but yesterday it was perfect! The weather was just wonderful, sunny and warm - it got as high as 90F/32C in the afternoon!
I had done some research about the Pumpkin Patches here in Kansas or at least the ones close or fairly close to us, and I wanted to go to one where the little ones would have fun too, and not just a big corn maze and such games for bigger kids. Nothing scary and not just a field to go and pick your pumpkin and I found the absolute perfect one for the kids! I can highly recommend Grammy's Pumpkin Patch!
It was about 45 minutes away and when we got there, we first walked around to see what was going on and took a walk down to the pumpkin patch, but there wasn't many pumpkins still on the field, as they were all over the farm and they were all for sale. Isabella almost immediately found a cat, and she was so happy and wanted to hold and touch the cat. As I wasn't sure if the cat would stay calm I didn't let her hold it on her own, not wanting any scratches in her little face!
Yesterday, they also had a special event there, and that was a Clydesdale horse ride. I took my girls for a ride on the wagon, and they loved it. Isabella kept neighing! Ask her "What does the horse say?" and she'll neigh for you! So cute!
After all the horse riding and all the other stuff that the girls did, we went back to Benjamin and Chris. Since we came, Benjamin was stuck in the area where there was lots and lots of trucks! He was so happy there and played and was so busy! Isabella fed some chickens, but Ben had only eyes for "his" trucks! Such a boy!!
There was also a fun "station" at the farm, where they had filled up two old bath tubs with corn and grain for the little ones to play with! Such a great idea. Clean and nice, not as dirty as sand tend to be, and Isabella had such a great time pouring and pouring the grains. She kept pouring the filled cup over her head (like in the real tub..) and we had corn and grain inside the diaper and clothes when we got home. You were also allowed to take a cup of grains and feed the chickens if you wanted, one of the family members also carried a chicken around for the kids to feed out of their hands.
I wanted to get some really nice family pictures of us and the pumpkins in the background, and have a lot of different pictures taken with the kids, but Benjamin was hardly to move away from the "truck area". He started crying as soon as Chris tried to walk him away from there.....
....so what to do?? Well, Chris helped him bring a truck along up to the area where the pumpkins were, but still, letting go of the truck only for a little while to take a picture, wasn't easy! He wasn't a happy camper, but we did the best of the situation and tried to get him to play with the truck in front of the pumpkins at least for the pictures.
All my children love books, so this station was a great treat. Lots of story books, all about fall, pumpkins and Halloween! Cassie was kind enough to read a few for them, mostly for Isabella as Ben soon was off again...
They also had some crafts that they did with the kids. While Cassie did a nice lantern, the little ones had an afternoon snack and when cookies and Pediasure was consumed it was time to go before the moods would start to go bad. We had such a wonderful afternoon, so much fun for the whole family and to me it's just amazing to see how they enjoyed this! This was all free, except the barrel and horse rides. Amazing, as most Pumpkin Patches you have to pay $6-8 entry and then extra for game and rides etc. We were supposed to buy the pumpkins there, but after loading up the twins in the stroller, we totally forgot to buy some. So now I guess we'll have to get us a few pumpkins from Dillon's here in town so that we can carve some for Halloween.

There was a lot of fun around the farm for all ages, and Cassandra had lots of fun on the hay slide. She went many many times! Then there was pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers and all sorts of games and fun.

A Family Picture!!
One shot only as Benjamin just didn't want to and Isabella also started to loose interest at this point..

My sweet Li'l Pumpkin is not so li'l anymore!
Here the barrel ride that is passing by is getting his attention!
Isabella found a scarecrow that was very interesting!
